Our crisis prevention houses offer short term support to people approaching or in crisis.
The team aims to support you in your recovery from an understandable mental health challenge so that you can move forward in your life and happily resettle back into your local community.

How to access this service
24 - hour Crisis Telephone Service 0800 151 0023 or if you are already receiving mental health care, e.g. through a Community Team or Crisis Team, you can ring our dedicated self-referral telephone number (020 8213 7777) to see whether you are eligible for a stay, or you can ask your local mental health key worker to refer you to the Crisis Prevention House Team.
What to expect
- Support to people experiencing mental health challenges - people who stay in the Crisis Prevention House can live in a safe environment and engage in a wide range of activities which include building life skills, learning about mental health conditions, wellbeing support, therapy, and creative activities.
- A welcoming, homely, therapeutic, recovery-focused, and person-centred environment - with individual bedrooms (with ensuite facilities), a communal kitchen and lounge, and a small garden.
- Duration of stay for a period of up to 2 weeks, short term intervention.
During your stay you will maintain your independence by continuing to attend to your own activities of daily living e.g., shopping, cooking, laundry etc.
The Crisis Prevention House Team includes a mix of peer support workers, mental health support workers and registered clinicians. We also work alongside Haringey Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, which support a variety of clinicians for further intervention needs. E.g., Psychiatrists, Psychologist, Social Workers, and Registered Mental Health Nurses.] Crisis Prevention house also has many strong links with the local borough agencies for any further referrals required during stay or at point of discharge.
