Digital strategy

Our Digital Strategy details our commitment on using technology to improve mental health services. Our aim is to lead in digital innovation, enhance service delivery, and improve clinical operations for the benefit of both service users and staff. The strategy outlines our vision for digital transformation, building on the existing foundations and expanding capabilities to meet the challenges of modern mental health care.

The Digital Strategy supports our ambition to become a Centre of Excellence in mental health analytics and population health, improving care quality, operational efficiency, and digital skills at all levels, from leadership to frontline staff and service users. The key objective is to create a digitally-enabled organisation that provides equitable, person-centred care, supports innovation, and ensures reliable, resilient technology.

At the heart of this digital transformation are five strategic themes:

  • Delivering excellent digital services - we are committed to providing high-quality, secure and reliable digital services that support its operations, allowing staff to deliver the best possible care. Delivering digital excellence will empower the Trust’s workforce to have confidence in the technology they use. Delivering digital excellence requires the organisation to make informed decisions about technology investments, ensuring that clinical, operational, and IT governance work together.
  • Data management and insights - by becoming a data-driven organisation, we will leverage clinical and business intelligence to drive better health outcomes and support decision-making at every level.
  • Smart infrastructure  - by becoming a data-driven organisation, we will leverage clinical and business intelligence to drive better health outcomes and support decision-making at every level.
  • Artificial intelligence  - we will use AI technologies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver better outcomes for service users.
  • People enablement and innovation  - the strategy focuses on building a digitally literate workforce and empowering service users, carers, and families to access and navigate digital services with ease. The Trust will foster a culture of innovation across its workforce, utilising cutting-edge technology to improve care coordination, efficiency, and service user outcomes.

Our strategy is not only about adopting new technologies but also about ensuring that these technologies are implemented in a way that aligns with our  Clinical Strategy   and  long-term objectives   . By prioritising user needs, addressing inequities in digital access, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, the Trust seeks to create a robust, future-proof digital infrastructure that delivers on its promise of better mental health services for all.
