We are pleased to announce the opening of our newly refurbished and expanded crisis house at Daleham Gardens today, 23 June 2026.
Crisis houses are services for people who are experiencing – or are at imminent risk of having – a mental health crisis. They are community-based settings where people can stay for up to two weeks. Crisis houses are staffed 24 hours a day and provide an alternative to hospital admission. They offer therapeutic support, recovery-focused care, and daily living skills in a homely environment.
Daleham Gardens is a 12-bed crisis house for adults and is close to Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage, and Belsize Park.
Located at 3 Daleham Gardens, NW3 5BY, the new setting brings together our Camden crisis house provision into one modern, welcoming space.
Shaped by the involvement of service users and staff, the renovations have added six new ensuite bedrooms and created a homely feel throughout.
At a recent site visit to gather service user feedback, one participant said, “I just love it! It’s bright, it’s new, it’s fresh. I’m impressed.”
The refurbished crisis house has been designed to feel safe, calm and welcoming. The environment reflects what people have told us matters most, including:
Service users, carers and staff have been involved at every stage. People with lived experience have helped to:
One service user told our engagement team, “I’m glad my input has counted for so much.”
Another service user commented, “I one hundred percent feel like I’ve been listened to.”
This collaboration, along with engagement with staff, has ensured the new crisis house is not just clinically safe, but genuinely supportive and person-centred.
The new setting at Daleham Gardens is completed by a collection of beautiful artworks that were co-created by service users. In three workshops guided by artist, Louise O’Gorman, participants made abstract pieces on the themes of nature and the local area.
A service user who attended the art workshops explained, “I want our artwork to show people using the crisis house that they are cared about.”
The bigger, better, and brighter premises at Daleham Gardens are now the base for the crisis team previously located at St Pancras Hospital. The Rivers Crisis House has closed as part of wider plans for the redevelopment of the St Pancras Hospital site.
We are looking forward to welcoming stakeholders and partners to an official launch event later this summer. We will continue to gather feedback from people using the service to make sure Daleham Gardens remains a safe, inclusive and therapeutic place to recover.
