We are delighted to mark the official opening and relocation of Enable Enfield Services new premises, to its new home at The Old Court House building in Windmill Hill, Enfield Town on 1 December.
Enable Enfield, run by the North London NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Enfield Council, provides specialist treatment and support to anyone over 18 living in Enfield who is worried about their alcohol or drug use.
The repurposed building offers a modern, welcoming space where residents can access specialist support to improve their health and wellbeing.
At the launch event, Perry Scott, Chief Executive of Enfield Council, Dudu Sher-Arami Director of Public Health for Enfield thanked all partners for their contribution.
Cllr Alev Cazimoglu, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care at Enfield Council highlighted the powerful impact of the new setting, saying:
“The health and wellbeing of Enfield’s residents is a council priority, so I am delighted this essential service now has a fit for purpose building which is within easy reach of public transport.”
North London Foundation Trust’s Chief of Staff, Andrew Wright, who is also a local resident, praised the collaboration between the Trust, Enfield Council, and the charitable organization Waythrough, in transforming the building and delivering such an innovative service. He said:
“We believe this new location will transform how the service is perceived and help tackle the stigma around Substance Misuse. Enable Enfield has built an excellent reputation for achieving some of the best outcomes in London, and we can all be proud of its achievements.”
The service relocated from Claverings Industrial Estate in Edmonton, following the sale of Claverings. Its central location and excellent transport links will make it easier for residents to access help when they need it, while also placing recovery support at the heart of the community.
Former Enable Enfield service user and volunteer peer mentor Pauline George shared her personal journey:
“This was the first place where I could be honest with myself and accept that I wasn’t OK. It gave me the space to understand my addiction and begin rebuilding my life. Recovery isn’t about perfection—it’s about connection and being understood. Becoming a peer mentor has allowed me to help other women find their voice, and they inspire me every day. Enable doesn’t just provide a service—it offers hope.”

Enable Enfield Service is delivered by North London Foundation Trust in partnership with Enfield Council and Waythrough. The team also works closely with service user experts to continuously develop and improve the service offer:
• Developing personalised care plans tailored to recovery goals.
• Connecting individuals with GPs, counsellors, and peer support groups.
• Supporting and optimising healthier life choices, providing first class-evidence based treatments and empowering long-term wellbeing.
