NLFT Chief Nursing Information Officer Emily Burch will co-lead the Equity Charter - a new national community of practice which aims to ensure digital health systems work for everyone. The Equity Charter held it's inaugural conference to launch the initiative on November 14:

Launching the Equity Charter Community of Practice was a powerful reminder that digital health is never neutral. I am delighted to support the co-founders of the Digital Equity Charter and co-facilitate this new community of practice.

She continued:  "This community of practice will strengthen collaboration across our sectors and organisations, teams, and most importantly, people. It will enable us to widen our thinking and help us design digital change that is equitable by default. The systems we build and the data we use must actively dismantle inequity, not reinforce it. It creates the space for us to learn, grow, and challenge ourselves, asking the difficult but essential questions about who benefits from our systems and who might be left behind.

Embedding equity into every part of our digital transformation is how we ensure our work is inclusive, co-produced with our communities, and shaped around real lives. This isn’t just an initiative without action. I believe that it will enable us at NLFT to create a movement that will define how we deliver fair, meaningful, and truly impactful digital health for everyone.”
