Our associate director for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Samina Arfan shares her remarks as we celebrate Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week 2025.
"Monday 19 May marks the start of Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week (#EQW2025) and this week at NLFT will are very proud to be marking the week which is a national campaign for all health and care organisations.
Now in its 13th year, #EQW2025 is a platform for colleagues at NFLT to join in with the learning and to share what we are doing to create a fairer and more inclusive NHS for our service users, carers, local communities and staff.
Fairness, equity ad inclusion are core to our strategic ambitions for NLFT. By developing more robust and systematic approaches to engaging our communities and diverse staff groups, supporting them to have influential voices, especially those that are overlooked, marginalised and at the fringes of society, we will strive to effectively meet their needs.
My team and I are fortunate to see and hear of the great work and passion colleagues do and have. We have made many in roads and have much more to do collectively to embrace diversity and address inequalities. For me, this fuels my energy to drive forward the collaborations needed to make this work happen.
This is our North London Way and we will continue our journey in addressing ‘fairness, equality and inclusion’ together."
On this note, stay tuned and join in the learning from the 19-23 May as we mark #EQW2025.
