We’re delighted to share that two of our most innovative and thoughtful healthcare projects—Highgate East and The Blooming Shed at Chase Farm Hospital—have received significant recognition in this year’s leading architecture and healthcare design awards.
Highgate East: shortlisted for European healthcare design 2025 award
Highgate East, our new state-of-the-art mental health facility designed in partnership with Ryder Architecture, has been shortlisted for the European Healthcare Designs (EHD) 2025 Awards in the category of Healthcare Design (Under 25,000 sqm).
Held as part of the 11th European Healthcare Design Congress, the awards recognise excellence in the design and delivery of healthcare environments across the globe. Highgate East is being celebrated for its urban integration, environmental sustainability, and its impact in transforming the experience of care for service users, staff and the wider community.
This highly competitive category includes international finalists from Spain and Australia, and will be judged in a live session on 9 May, with the winners announced on 12 May at a ceremony at the Royal College of Physicians, followed by a garden celebration in the venue’s medicinal gardens. The ceremony will also be streamed worldwide on SALUS TV.

The Blooming Shed at Chase Farm: recognition at AJ small projects & European healthcare design awards
Meanwhile, The Blooming Shed—a beautifully conceived space at Chase Farm Hospital, created to support recovery and wellbeing—has been shortlisted for the 2025 Architects’ Journal (AJ) Small Projects Awards, a competition known for highlighting exceptional smaller-scale architectural work across the UK. This year marks the 30th edition of the AJ Awards, with over 160 submissions and just 30 shortlisted. Winners will be announced shortly, and we are thrilled to be in the running.
In addition, The Blooming Shed has also gained recognition in the European Healthcare Design Awards, where it has been shortlisted in the Mental Health Design category. This category celebrates outstanding therapeutic environments that support mental health recovery through sensitive, human-centred design. The team will present the project to the judging panel on 13 June, with the winners announced during the Congress on 10 June.
