Medical students completing clinical placements across the North London Foundation Trust (NLFT) have reported a 95% satisfaction rate, according to the latest University College London (UCL) Medical School survey.

The figure marks a significant improvement of 22 percentage points over the past two years, rising from 73% to 95%, and reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality of undergraduate medical education.

Each year, NLFT welcomes between 350 and 400 medical students from University College London (UCL). 

These students complete a range of clinical placements across our services, including wards, and several of our main sites such as St Ann’s Hospital, Highgate Mental Health Centre, Chase Farm Hospital, Edgware Community Hospital, and a range of community settings.

Students highlighted:
•    The warm and welcoming atmosphere across our services
•    The support and guidance offered by staff
•    The high quality of clinical teaching
•    The clear communication and organisation that helped them make the most of their placements

Dr Stefania Bonaccorso, Co-Director of Medical Education at NLFT, said: 

“Great teaching makes a real difference, not just for our students, but for the patients they will go on to care for. It’s encouraging to see that reflected so strongly in their feedback this year.”

The positive survey results coincide with another notable achievement for the Trust. NLFT's Undergraduate Medical Education Team has recieved the UCL MBBS Excellence in Medical Education Award.

The award recognises the team’s commitment to delivering high quality teaching and continuously improving the learning experience for medical students. 

The survey results and award reflect the dedication of our staff and the strength of our partnership with UCL Medical School. NLFT remains committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities and supporting the development of the next generation of doctors.
