"A thank you to everyone who works in the NHS – you are what makes it extraordinary”
Five long-serving North London NHS Foundation Trust colleagues were among the guests at the Prime Minister’s garden-party reception marking the 78th anniversary of the founding of the NHS.
The event took place on Monday 6 July, immediately following the 5 July anniversary of the first NHS patients treated in 1948.
Invites were extended to frontline and long-serving employees at NHS organisations across the country, including NLFT, with specific request for people working at the Trust’s St Pancras Hospital site in the parliamentary constituency of Keir Starmer, MP for Holborn and St Pancras.
The five attendees from NLFT were:
Paulette Brown – IT and Digital
John Davies – St Pancras Conference Centre
Natalie Fox – Deputy chief executive
Tracy Periclis – Executive assistant to Trust Chair
Andrew Wright – Chief of staff
As well as meeting the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care James Murray, the NLFT attendees took the opportunity to take photos in front of the famous No10 Downing Street front door.
Deputy chief executive Natalie Fox said:
“A particularly meaningful part of the celebration was hearing the heartfelt thanks to everyone who works in the NHS, with a request that those of us fortunate enough to attend pass that appreciation on to our colleagues.
So, this is my thank you to every member of NHS staff. To our dedicated, compassionate and highly skilled colleagues who turn up every day, often in the most challenging circumstances, to care for patients, support families and improve lives—thank you. Your professionalism, kindness and commitment are what make the NHS so extraordinary. "
