
The Kaleidoscopic Dream: Swan Song brought together artists, NHS staff, service users and community partners at St Pancras Hospital o n Friday 9 January to mark the conclusion of one of Camden’s longest-running arts projects.
The Grand Finale celebrated 23 years of The Arts Project , founded in 2003 to embed creativity within healthcare settings across Camden and Islington. Over its lifetime, the project worked across three NHS Trusts and was supported by five Mayors of Camden.
The event was officially opened by the Mayor of Camden, Councillor Eddie Hanson , with speeches from Peter Herbert, Dr James Holt-Gray , Dominic O’Ryan and Professor Pippa Catterall , reflecting on the project’s role in supporting wellbeing, creative expression and community connection.
The final exhibition was the largest group show in the project’s history , featuring work by 60 artists , including contributors from the earliest years of the project alongside 12 artists exhibiting for the first time .
Live cabaret and performance formed a central part of the evening, concluding with a celebratory fashion catwalk involving artists and supporters — a fitting and joyful finale.
The Kaleidoscopic Dream: Swan Song offered a moment to recognise the lasting cultural contribution The Arts Project has made to Camden over more than two decades.
