The British Medical Association has announced a new round of strikes by resident doctors (previously known as junior doctors) in England in the long-running pay dispute.
Junior doctors will go on strike for five days between Wednesday 17 December and Monday 22 December 2025. This includes resident doctors at the Trust.
During these strikes, all other NHS staff (including consultants and other specialist doctors) will still be working, and the focus of the NHS will be on ensuring as many services as possible continue to operate safely.
As always, our priority is our service users and their safety, making sure we provide the best possible care under the circumstances. Nevertheless, some routine clinical work may need to be cancelled, with the consequence that rearranging some appointments will be unavoidable.
We will be contacting service users who are affected by these changes, so please attend scheduled appointments unless we contact you to rebook.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, please use NHS 111 and press 2 for Mental Health or call our Crisis telephone number and Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service. These services will be staffed during the upcoming strike, and are available 24/7, and offer urgent care and emergency response for people in mental health crisis.
