We were delighted to welcome London’s Regional Chief Nurse, Karen Bonner MBE to Highgate Mental Health Centre on Friday 25 April.
The visit was an opportunity for her to know more about some of the services we run and meet staff and patients.
Karen visited some of the wards at both Highgate East and West including our older people and adult acute inpatient wards as well as our Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service (MHCAS), which supports individuals experiencing urgent mental health crisis.
During her visit, Karen had the opportunity to talk to staff about their job, the things they enjoy the most about it and also some of the challenges they face.
Karen said:
“It was great to see and hear firsthand about some of the services that NLFT runs and speak to some of their wonderful staff and meet some of their patients.”
“Thanks for making me feel so welcome and for sharing more about the great work you do in mental health in North London.”
Karen was met by our chief nursing and AHP officer Manny Gnanaraj, the associate director of nursing for Highgate, Muhammad Jaunbocus, and Director of Nursing, Fiona Nolan (all photographed below).
Manny said:
“We were delighted to have Karen visiting us here for the first time.
We enjoyed showing her around and staff felt genuinely excited about her visit and felt appreciated about the work they do and the care they provide to our patients.”
