Sal Jarvis joins the Board of NLFT, bringing extensive experience from the higher education sector. She was previously a NED at the Tavistock and Portman, actively supporting its merger and transition into NLFT. She is Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education) at the University of Westminster, where she leads on academic strategy, student experience, and inclusive practice.
Sal has worked in higher education since 2006, following an earlier career as a primary school teacher. Her professional focus has consistently centred on education, training, and widening participation, with a particular emphasis on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and inclusion. This long-standing commitment to equitable access and learner support shapes her contribution to board discussions, particularly around patient experience, safeguarding, and organisational culture.
Alongside her university role, Sal serves as a Governor and Chair of the Development Board for a school supporting students with physiological and neurological impairments. This governance experience complements her NHS role, where she contributes to scrutiny, assurance, and strategic direction at a time of ongoing transformation within the Trust.

Mark Versaillion joins us as a Non-Executive Director, with strong skills from a similar role at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He also previously served on the boards of the Luton and Dunstable NHS Hospital and NW London Hospitals NHS Trust. As well as this he brings commercial experience from the private sector with BAE Systems plc, Capgemini plc and a decade as managing director of a London marketing agency. Alongside his private sector career he worked for a US senator and a UK government minister and has held a number of national and local government roles, as well as other directorships.
Prior to his non-executive career, Mark served in the Royal Navy, including postings on HMS Gloucester and HMS Richmond. He won the 'Best Shot' trophy for marksmanship with the SA80 assault rifle and captained the HMS Wildfire fencing team – experiences that speak to discipline, leadership under pressure, and a competitive drive.
He brings these qualities to his governance work, contributing constructive challenge, scrutiny of performance and risk, and a clear focus on patient outcomes. His wide ranging experience will be an asset managing the broader challenges facing NHS trusts as they balance growing demand with the need for service transformation, and his experience strengthens the assurance frameworks and organisational culture that underpin sustainable, high-quality care.

We look forward to working with them all.

We would also like to thank Charles Waddicor, who is stepping down at the end of June 2026. Charles served as a NED on the board of North London NHS Foundation Trust (and its predecessor organisations), helping to ensure high standards of governance, clinical quality, and financial performance across the Trust. He brought extensive experience from a career in NHS leadership and governance, including advisory work with the Care Quality Commission and other national bodies. Charles was first appointed to the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust in March 2015 and later to Camden and Islington in October 2021, continuing into the merged NLFT structure.
