
Andy has worked in healthcare for over 50 years and holds nursing registration in mental health, general, and learning disabilities nursing. This breadth of professional registration reflects a career grounded in compassionate, person-centred care across a wide range of services and patient needs. His extensive clinical and leadership experience has given him a deep understanding of the importance of quality, safety, and continuous improvement in delivering outstanding care.
He has worked at executive level for more than 30 years, primarily in Chief Nurse and Chief Operating Officer roles. Throughout this time, he has provided strategic leadership across complex healthcare organisations, with a strong focus on improving patient outcomes, supporting staff, and ensuring high standards of professional practice. His experience spans operational delivery, service transformation, workforce development, and the strengthening of clinical governance and assurance.
Andy has also worked at national level with/Department of Health and the former NHS Improvement. These roles have enabled him to contribute to wider policy, professional standards, and service improvement across the NHS. He brings to his work a combination of strategic insight, practical leadership, and a long-standing commitment to advancing nursing practice and improving the experience of patients, families, and staff.
