On Monday 12 May we will be celebrating nurses across the Trust and the wonderful work they do to support our service users, their families and carers.
International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every 12 May, to commemorate the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth.
This year’s theme focuses on the health and wellbeing of nurses. This theme reinforces the critical role a healthy nursing workforce plays in strengthening economies, improving health systems, and ensuring better outcomes for communities worldwide.
Manny Gnanaraj, our chief nursing and AHP officer, shares a message for our 1,500 + nurses working across the Trust:
“Happy International Nurses Day to all our nurses across the Trust, I wish you all a wonderful day.
Thank you for all the work you do, for the care that you provide to our service users and for choosing to be a nurse”.

Once again thank you to all our nurses for listening, supporting and providing care to our service users, families and carers, today and every day.
You are at the heart of the NHS and everything we do at NLFT. Your hard work, commitment and compassion is outstanding and always appreciated.
